Grace Bible Church Plantation Ministries
Grace Bible Church Plantation provides comfortable and safe nursery care for toddlers and infants during both the Sunday School hour and main Worship Service. We also provide privacy for nursing mothers.
Grace Bible Church Plantation provides age appropriate Sunday school classes, where children are taught the Word of God.
The goal of our children’s ministry is not to entertain children or to pander to their fallen sinful desires but rather to raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:1-4) so that they might come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 3:15) and adorn the gospel in a life of holiness (Tit. 2:10) as the next generation of the church (Ps. 78). At GBCP we teach parents that they bear the primary responsibility of shepherding their child’s soul, and therefore they must constantly and continually teach them the Word of God all week long both by example and exhortation. Our goal is not to supplant the parents of their role and responsibility nor to act as a substitute for them but rather to come alongside of them and to support them and strengthen them by providing supplementary teaching in addition to all the teaching their children are already receiving from them at home all week long. At GBCP we simply seek to aid parents in three very specific ways:
1) By providing children with exposure to the stories of the bible
2) By providing children with the theological foundations of the Christian faith
3) By providing children with opportunities to observe and practice basic Christian disciplines
MEN’S AND WOMEN”S MINISTRIES
LORD’S DAY WORSHIP SERVICE
Every Lord’s Day (Sunday) we gather corporately to worship the Lord through our singing, serving, giving and sitting under the faithfully preached Word!
MID-WEEK WORSHIP SERVICE
Every Wednesday night we gather corporately to worship the Lord in a more informal bible study setting.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL
Every Lord’s Day (Sunday) we gather for equipping and edification through bible exposition in our Sunday School hour.
MEN’S LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Every week our men meet to discuss specific leadership and theological issues to prepare ourselves for leadership both in the home and the church. During this time our men are exposed to various areas of practical theology and the spiritual shepherding of God's people. We cover various subjects such as (but not limited to) church government, body life, church discipline, men's and women's roles in ministry, character development, conflict resolution, church history, preparing Bible lessons, basic Christian doctrine, and pastoral duties.
WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY
Every other Friday night our women gather for a home bible study. It is a stragtegic time for the women to study God's Word together and to mutually edify and encourage one another in the truth.
The driving passion behind GBCP’s music ministry is the encouragement in Colossians 3:16 to “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your heart to God.” We do this as we sing corporately, praising and adoring our Lord for His lovingkindness in sending Christ. The work of Jesus on the cross and its practical implications for our lives is the centerpiece of our singing. In addition to songs communicating love and devotion to our Savior, we also recognize the value of biblically saturated lyrics for instruction and reinforcement of the truths of God’s Word.
Although the worship of God in spirit and truth is the highest aim of all of our music, we acknowledge that our corporate praise should also seek to edify one another (Colossians 3:16). This takes the focus off of one's own personal experience in worship and allows us to be others-focused even in our singing.
While congregational praise makes up the majority of our music, our service occasionally include special music. These times allow those with musical gifts and abilities a unique opportunity to minster to the body. We believe this serves our meetings by giving our congregation an opportunity to focus on the lyrical content of a piece of music as we prepare our hearts for further corporate singing or the preached Word. These times are not to demonstrate the ability of the presenters, but rather to enhance the opportunity for the hearers to interact with the truth contained in the pieces.
Overall, the priority of our music is the content. When this principle is firmly established, style becomes a secondary issue and the music takes on the diverse preferences and tastes of the people who make up the body. Corporate singing is a time where our love for Christ supersedes our love of a particular genre or instrument and becomes a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate deference and unity.
The Great Commission of making disciples through the planting and establishing of churches is at the heart of all we do. Whole families get involved in our missions program by giving, praying, sending and personal evangelism. We are currently supporting Mark and Diane Henzler (www.henzler.abwe.org) in Managua, Nicaragua with Association of Baptists for Worldwide Evangelism (ABWE) and Matt and Johanna Johnston (http://thejohnstonfam.wordpress.com/) in Rome, Italy with Cornelius Ministries.
